CNN conducted a study to analyze and generate travel trends which can prove to be of great benefits to the vacation planners in 2010. However recession is still a major reason for lower traveling rates and lower traveling budgets.

Keeping all the money crunch facts in mind CNN asked the travel industry experts about the traveling trends. The experts said that people will continue to travel which is good news.

There are some good and bad things that the travelers will have to face. As per experts the car rental rates are going to rise and so are prices of air travel tickets. The hotels will continue to keep their rates as they are or increase them slightly they have been facing a hard time and cannot miss out on customers by increasing the room rates. Cruise lines have increased their rates and no further hike is expected at least from the big players in 2010.

Petrol and gas prices will continue to shoot up during summers which will ultimately make travel by car, air or ship an expensive affair. But summers being the prime holidaying season people will have to compromise on their travel budget.

However the good news is travelers can expect some exciting offers and package discounts on air travel and hotel stays.
